Cola newsletter; question was asked if members
were receiving the newsletter. Not all members have. Lisa is updating
the member list to send in with the dues for COLA. Katie Magozzi
volunteered to be our representative at Cola next year. Rich Willhas was
the representative this past year. Cola has funds available for projects
if our association identifies something we would like to work on. A
suggestion was made to look at the campground shore line which has
significant erosion. Issue will be addressed in future.
Social Summer event was canceled due to lack of
interest.
Loon Nests - Phil Bergstrom has volunteered to
inspect and repair the loon nests. He has a couple of volunteers to
assist him. Thanks, Phil.
Culvert Status: funds for the culvert are no
longer available. Rich Willhaus read a letter received from Lynn Eaton ,
MN DOT District Engineer, they consider the culvert to be acceptable for
the use it was intended. MN DOT will not be looking at this culvert for
several years. It was recommended a Task Force be formed to meet with
Larry Howe and Lynn Eaton and keep this issue open, so if and when it
does come up for repair the Lake Association can have a vote on how it
is repaired or replaced. Task force formed by Rich willhaus, Dan Rud and
Norris Kowalki. Meeting to be scheduled with Larry Howes and Lynn Eaton.
Martin Merck noted that the culvert is
impassable except by canoe. Concern was raised regarding the water flow
through the culvert. It was felt that it is acceptable for residents to
remove branches, rocks, etc. that are clogging the culvert.
Norris Kowalki questioned checking septic
systems. Stated sewer smell was noted at various areas on the lake.
County is responsible for inspections of septic systems on the lake. A
system has to be certified when obtaining a building permit, but unsure
if periodic inspections are required as well. Norris to check with
county regarding policy for septic inspections.
