The Eastern Hubbard
County Fire District (Akeley Fire Dept.) and Akeley 1st
Response Team give Fire Protection and Rescue help to the
city of Akeley, Akeley, Badora and White Oak townships, as
well as mutual aid with surrounding area departments.
Each of the covered area's has 2 representatives who attend
monthly meetings to discuss the needs of the department.
So we can continue to offer the best and safest coverage
possible while still meeting all MN State & OSCHA
requirements.
At this time we have 20 fire and 10 rescue team members.
Many of these dedicated people belong to both teams.
Both teams respond at the same time as needed. Members
continue to attend classes & training.
We are very Thankful for the continued generous support we
receive from Akeley VFW Harold Harris Post 8508. We
now have the "Jaws of Life" and Airlift Bags. Also we
received donation towards a Cascade System.
Donations have also come from Akeley Fire and Rescue
Auxiliary's fund raising efforts allowing us to obtain a
Piercing Nozzle, and PAL'S for Air Packs (this is an alarm
allowing other's to find a fireperson who may become trapped
or hurt while in fire or smoke filled area). And AFRA
is now assisting the dept. to purchase a Ventilation Saw.
We appreciate all the donations that come to E.H.C.F.D. and
Akeley 1st Response Team. Our community working
together can make a difference.
