The Akeley City Council met in a special meeting Wednesday May 28, 2008
at 7:00 pm. Mayor Tom Moore called the meeting to order. Council
members present were Tom Moore, Frank Lamb, Eric Sjolin, Cliff Johnson
and Brian Hitchcock. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by the
Council and attending audience.
The Council had received a letter of interest from Bruce Beckley stating
he is interested in becoming a member of the HRA Board. At the May
Regular Council Meeting, Nels Kramer had provided names of other people
who had expressed their interest to him in becoming members of the HRA
Board. Those people are: Josh Kietzman, Troy Hegg, Dick Wahlin, Roger
McCollough and Bruce Patton.
Motion by Frank Lamb seconded by Brian Hitchcock and carried to approve
to appoint Bruce Beckley, Bruce Patton, Roger McCollough, Dick Wahlin
and Troy Hegg to the HRA Board with Josh Kietzman and Tom Moore as
alternates if one of the others should decline. Eric Sjolin abstained.
Denise Rittgers is to notify these people that they have been appointed
with the understanding that they have the right of refusal.
Some discussion was held regarding the 5 year board positions and it was
stated that the years should be staggered so that the entire board
wouldn’t have to be appointed after 5 years.
Motion by
Eric Sjolin seconded by Brian Hitchcock and carried to adjourn.
